I could go for a makeover right now like never before. A manicure, pedicure, and massage treatment would be so nice. While I’m at it, I might as well tack on a new wardrobe complete with accessories and all! Just the thought of it all brings a small level of comfort. I’m almost positive every woman out there would go for one as well.
It’s a well known fact the majority of mothers don’t put the time in for makeovers or other special treatments. Most mothers choose their families over themselves which is an extremely noble act. Believe it or not, the Bible encourages us to have makeovers on a regular basis!
Here is the proof,
1 Peter 3:1-6
…What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands.
Wow, that is definitely an extreme makeover – gentle, gracious, inner disposition. God wasn’t playing. He wants Christian women to care more about their insides and attitudes more than outer beauty. Unfortunately, our culture tells us to do the exact opposite. The message that is often sent is to take care of outer beauty first and don’t even worry about having a good attitude. So Christian ladies, let’s show the world what a real makeover looks like.
